Conceived in 1965, First Flight in 1966
Further development of the RF single-seater by Alpavia led to the birth of the RF4. Although very similar in looks to the RF3, it was a much-improved version, being strengthened and stressed to make it fully aerobatic, and three RF4’s were built by Alpavia. To increase production, larger facilities were required and Sportavia-Putzer GmbH, the German distributor, was geared up to manufacture the RF4D (the D for Deutschland) while Alpavia assured sales and distribution.
